Export Controls: Canadian Persons
As a defense manufacturer with activities in Canada, Wenzel International, Inc. dba Croven Crystals Ltd. (Quantic Croven) must comply with Canadian export control regulations to ensure the protection of controlled articles, technologies, and services from unauthorized access, export, or re-export.
Under Canadian export control laws define a “Canadian person” as a Canadian citizen, permanent resident, or entity incorporated or operating in Canada. Canadian persons are authorized to access Canadian-controlled goods and technologies under the Controlled Goods Program (CGP), while foreign persons require special authorization from the Canadian government.
To ensure compliance with Canadian export control regulations, candidates for this position are required to undergo an Export Compliance Assessment. As part of this process, candidates may be asked to provide documentation verifying their status as “Canadian persons” or “foreign persons,” in accordance with applicable regulation(s), to determine whether prior authorization is required to perform specific job duties related to this position.
